Cognitive Dysfunction (CDS)

Our clinic diagnoses cognitive dysfunction (CDS) in senior dogs and cats.

Nocturnal crying, wandering, and changes in activity time (reversal of day and night) are signs of dementia (commonly known as senility or dementia), which occurs when brain nerve cells and the autonomic nervous system stop functioning properly due to aging, stroke, cerebral hemorrhage, nutritional deficiencies, etc.

Cognitive decline that begins in senior years can be delayed or mitigated with early intervention (appropriate food, supplements, and medication). Our clinic offers a cognitive function assessment using a scoring system called the Lofina Questionnaire. This is a simple check that owners can do at home by themselves, so please feel free to contact us.
